Text: Luke 4:14-15 “Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. And He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.”

Today is Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost is the commemoration of the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the 120 believers who were gathered in the Upper Room in Jerusalem.
Jesus Christ told them to wait until they are filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 says, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Jesus Christ while He was doing His earthly ministry relied on the Holy Spirit. If Jesus could do nothing while on earth without the Power of the Holy Spirit, how much more we.
Jesus while on earth was 100% God, and 100% Human. The Hypostatic Nature of Jesus Christ. He took a human soul while Being Divine.
Jesus’ humanity, both body and soul did not get lost by His divinity. As a result of this, Jesus’ humanity needed the Holy Spirit to commune with God and to be effective in His earthly ministry.

The Holy Spirit took a prominent role in every major events that occurred in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Luke 3:21-22 the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus Christ when He was baptized.

The Holy Spirit is our Advocate – John 14:16

On the commemoration of the Day of Pentecost, we ask for a fresh start, a fresh infilling and a fresh anointing of The Holy Spirit.
